Information Overload: It is An Addiction

Information Overload:  It is An Addiction

You take in so much information that you get overloaded, unproductive and everything STOPS.

I have been an “addict” of information for quite some time.  I subscribe to people’s email lists, I read their blogs, and I follow them on social networks.  I try to absorb as much as I can...

I implement what they tell me, yet I fail to get the results they get.

I just want to be a success.

I want to be a “rock-star”

I chase after them hoping to glean something, anything, that will help me figure out what I need to do; how to stop doing what isn’t going right.

I crave a solution…

I hunger for results….

And, when things don’t work out the way I hope, I take in more information from similar leaders.

My husband tried to console me one day, as I was in tears, frustrated at the lack of results I was seeing for all of the time and effort I was putting in...

“You’re like a sponge… you absorb so much, but you never let anyone wring you out.”

I thought about this…maybe you can relate?

You take in information, from e-books, webinars, conference calls, social networks…

…you implement as much as you can…

…you see a little activity and feel some HOPE…

…and then everything FLOPS.

You take in MORE information…praying for your “A-HA” moment.  Everyone has one, why not you...or me?

Right?

It eludes you.

You unplug, frustrated.  You feel like you are spinning your wheels.  You unsubscribe from everyone, stay off of Facebook, and delete the e-books and recordings.  You can’t do it anymore.

Then, something happens… car repossessed, job loss, bill in the mail...

…or, even something as unique and special as a complete stranger sending you a card saying, “You are special.  Never give up.”

That happened to me.  A Facebook friend sent me a card out of the blue one day.  I didn’t ask how she got my information, all I knew was I cried.  I knew that even though I felt like I wasn’t making a difference…

…to one person I did.

And, I re-engaged.  I sought out more information.

Still seeking my “A-HA” moment that eluded me.

But, again, I joined a bunch of things that I couldn’t afford.  They were all trials, so what harm would it be, right?

Well, the harm was that I was still not getting “it” and I was crushing my confidence.

They say that “It’s not your fault you’re failing in your MLM.”  TRUE…

BUT, it is your RESPONSIBILITY.

We all must take account for everything we do.  It isn’t my fault that every guru only provides 75% of the needed information.  And, it’s not my fault that the overlapping 75% of each guru still doesn’t help me find the missing piece to the puzzle.

It is my responsibility to admit I am struggling.  It is my responsibility to seek a coach to help me get that other 25%.

I want to encourage you today…don’t give up.

If you struggle to find the missing piece to your puzzle…GET A COACH.

Find someone who will work with your experience, talents, gifts and abilities to help you propel your business forward.  Find someone who is knowledgeable of the industry, the methods by which you work with your business and someone who has a network of contacts and resources to assist you.

Remember, it isn’t your fault…but it is your RESPONSIBILITY.
Break the addiction…save yourself some money and hassle.  Invest in changing your life, your business and achieving your goals.

If you need a Business Coach, get in touch with me and I will direct you to someone I trust and respect.  MarinoMarketingGroup@gmail.com and put “Business Coach” in the subject line.
