If You Fail to Plan, You Are Planning To Fail
Ironically, I planned to write about this topic today and I saw this phrase in more than one place, by different people.
My original title for this blog post was "You can't afford NOT to afford it."
How is that the same, you ask?
First let me explain how I interpret the fail/plan title:
If you don't make goals for yourself and you don't look to the future and make plans, you will fail. You don't have to be a crazy, organized maniac about planning, but you do have to consider that most of life does NOT happen by accident. You don't graduate high school by "winging it". You don't find a job without some thought and effort. There is a thought process to all of these things. There is usually a plan, or system, in place and you follow the plan.
Now, go beyond the "norm" and consider having a lucrative paying career, a cushioned bank account and a happy family. That takes planning my friend. Even if not scripted out on paper, there is still a plan and a process to achieve what you want. I believe there is a saying that goes around that the most successful people in history wrote their goals down (created a plan).
Moving on...when I said you can't afford to NOT afford it, I was referring to putting a plan into action. Creating goals for the new year, planning out action steps and then implementing them. If you don't work on that, you will continue to play small, have unfulfilled dreams and lead a life that craves more.
So, what are you going to do now? Are you going to get your sh*t together and take action? If it means spending money or time or sacrificing...don't tell me you can't afford it. You can't afford NOT to do it. If you don't do something now, where will you be in a year from now? Saying the same f*ing thing you've been saying.
Don't live by the "I will do X when everything is right."
Live AS IF things are ideal and you want to achieve MORE.
Go to work and give it your all AS IF the boss is watching & waiting to give you a raise.
Spend time with your family AS IF there's no more time left.
Invest in yourself AS IF you're already on your way to your goals.
Walk and talk and think AS IF love, prosperity and abundance are already yours.
I heard this from Dani Johnson once (not sure who originally said it):
Definition of insanity is...doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.
Don't be insane my friend. Take a stand right now, for your future, your family, your hopes and dreams. Make a move, NOW.
See you on the other side!
