Now What? Last Night Was A Mess

Shit happens and sometimes the best thing you can do is just keep going.

Last night was the big moment.  I was ready for the teleclass to launch my new course.  The Mompreneur Mini Makeover DIY Course was ready to go...but the weather said, no.  The winds were so strong in my area of NJ that I couldn't get my wifi to work right so I went with Plan B and got a telephone conference line set up.  I was set!

Then as the time drew close to begin the call...no signal.  I even drove around trying to find a strong signal or find an open Wi-Fi connection but by 9:20 I knew it was too late.  No one would be waiting on the conference call for that long.

I wanted to cry.  All my hard work down the drain.  All the goals I had, squashed.  I was ready to crawl up into a ball and cry myself to sleep.

My phone made its little chime noise saying I had a new email.  I noticed it was from my coach and I clicked on the message.  I read through about 2 paragraphs before my eyes were to blurred to read anymore.

Stay the course.

It wasn't an email directly to me but it came to me with a message that I needed to hear.

Funny how things happen like that right?  People and things come into our lives just when we need them.  If we're open to receiving them, we grasp onto them.  If not, they will pass us by.

So I had a screwed up launch and no sales.  It's not the end of the world.  I used the emotion that brought the tears to my eyes to ignite my creative force and figure out what to do next.

I will create a recording to cover the content I had planned to deliver last night.  I will release it to the public and promote it and perhaps in the future I will do all my classes that way and just do client calls live.

I could use this as a reason to quit or as a reason to persevere.  I choose the latter.

My message to you is that no matter what happens, stay the course.  And expect shit to happen because that's life.  The more you strive to reach your goals, the more shit seems to happen.

Stay the course.

I chose to share this story with you because you may have needed to receive this message right now.  You may be trying to take your business to a new level and are hitting obstacles.  And you may feel like giving up.

Don't. Stay the course.

I'm here to help you.  Just like my coach helps me, even if she doesn't know it...lol

Make it a great day.  You deserve it.

PS. My course will be available later today.  I'm really looking forward to you becoming a part of the community.

Teleclass Starts Tonight

I am so excited and nervous as hell to do this teleclass tonight.  Excited because I know it's going to help mom entrepreneurs and nervous because I haven't done a live teleclass in quite sure time.

But I believe in my course and I believe in you.  I know we're going to do great things together.

Since I experienced technical difficulties with my phone and the site I originally planned to use I had to go with a Plan B.  But now it's close to start time and many of you might not see this in time.

To be fair, cause it isn't your fault, all of the bonuses announced on the call will be available to anyone who signs up by midnight ET Tuesday March 29th.  The recording will be made available asap.

For the live call at 9pm ET
Dial (563) 999-2090
Access code 629934

I'm so excited to share this with you and I look forward to seeing you in the Facebook group as well.

Make it a great day.  You deserve it.

Happy Easter

Happy Easter to my friends who celebrate today.

I'm watching the movie Fireproof today and even though I'm not married right now, the values and concepts in the movie can be life lessons to anyone.

It's a Christian movie but the basic idea is to treat the ones you love with honor, respect, loyalty and devotion.  After all, isn't that what we all want from other people.  The hardest part comes when you have to treat them that way even if they don't reciprocate the sentiments.  Take the higher road, listen to you inner self and do what's right.

How you treat others says a lot about the person you are. In life, and in business.  A lot of people treat their business as if it's different from anything else in their life.  They may be honorable to their partner, kids and friends but then in their business they are cut-throat, unethical or even flat out dishonest.  But the business partnership is similar to any other partnership.  It takes time, commitment, communication, work and honesty.

If you're not currently treating your business partnerships as you would one with a close friend or family member, consider what you need to do to change that.

You may think I'm a little crazy, but think about it.  When you foster growth in any relationship, does it not grow stronger? Do you enjoy the time you spend more?  Do you look forward to it?

My tip for you today:  look at all of your relationships, personal and professional.  Figure out ways to strengthen them.  Take the time to let the people in your life know how much you appreciate them.  Communicate with them on a higher level.  Then journal about it all.

Make it a great day.  You deserve it.

PS:  My DIY Mompreneur Mini Makeover starts tomorrow.  If you have signed up to join the teleclass, I'd love to have you join us http://mompreneurmakeover.blogspot.com

See you there!!

Are You Passionate About Your Business?

Are You Passionate About Your Business?

I don't mean excited.

I don't mean hyped up.

I mean PASSIONATE.  As in, even if you didn't get paid for it, you'd still do it?

Hmm...I think a couple people clicked off my blog just now.

Look, if you aren't passionate about what you do...

...why the hell are you doing it?

It can't be about the money.

Money is just a TOOL.

So, what are you doing it for?

I always replied, "I love helping people."

That may be true for you, but go a bit deeper.  HOW do you help people.  It's not your product or service.  It's the interaction.  It's the support, encouragement and empowerment.

You could be a "newbie" in your business, but if you tell someone you will work side-by-side with them, and you actually DO it, they're going to stick with you.  And they will buy from you over and over again.

Think about why you are in business...

Every single day, I want you to think about why you are in business and what you are passionate about.  These two things should be aligned.  Journal about it.  Every. Single. Day.

If I wasn't passionate about coaching Mompreneurs to makeover their businesses and their lives, I wouldn't be very useful to anyone.  I coach, even when I don't get paid for it.  I love to help people, yes, but specifically, I love helping Mompreneurs transform their lives. Helping them, seeing them get results...that lights me up.  It inspires me, encourages me and empowers me.

You have to give your all.  Every day.

People need you to help them.  Until your passionate about what you do, you can't truly help anyone.

I'd love to help you.

I hope today's post has been helpful to you.

I look forward to hearing your feedback.

Make it a great day; you deserve it!

Literally NO Standing Room

Literally NO Standing Room

A friend of mine has heard some negative things that I personally felt were uncalled for.  She was in a situation, left with no choice, and what had to be done was the best for everyone.  Now, people criticize and judge what they feel was her choice.  When, it's honestly none of their business.

But, she said, "I'm the happiest I've ever been."

And, that is the ONE thing I believe she should focus on.

Have you ever been in a place like that?  Where choices you made cause other people to judge you?  We all have, right?

Next time that happens, this is my advice (and I will take it too):

Give that negative, harsh, judgmental person or people NO standing room in your life.

Surround yourself with people that love and encourage you.
Surround yourself with people that understand where you've been.
Surround yourself with people that are where you want to go.

Fill your head with grateful, loving thoughts.

And, guess what?

Those assholes that have the nerve to judge you...

They will fade into the background.

There is literally, I mean LITERALLY, no room for them.

Ever see the commercial where the family is surrounded by thousands of military members?

"To get to you, they will have to go through us."

Same concept.  Don't give those jerks room (or energy) to get close to you and affect you.

Focus on those that love, encourage and inspire you.

I remind you....'what you focus on expands' and that includes a strong support system of amazing people.

Until next time...

Make it a great day.  You deserve it!

What Are You Grateful For?

What Are You Grateful For?

One of the best daily workouts I have EVER done was my gratitude journal.  Every single day, I would write down 15 things I was grateful for.

Did you know there are actually scientific articles about the benefits of being grateful?

Here's one of these articles:  CLICK HERE

It is such a small task, that barely takes any time.  But, the rewards are GINORMOUS.

Gratitude changes the way you look at life.
Gratitude opens the door to blessings.
Gratitude blesses the people around you.
Gratitude helps your physical and mental health.

Gratitude is one of the simplest, yet most beneficial tasks you will ever experience.

I am grateful for so many things, including readers like you, that enjoy my blog posts.

Here's a daily exercise for you.  Every morning, before you get out of bed, take some deep breaths and say out loud 10 things you are grateful for.

There is no "right" or "wrong" way to do it, just do it your way.  But, do it.  You won't regret it, I promise.

Thank YOU for being here.  You are on my gratitude list, every day.

Make it a great day; you deserve it!

One Of Your Biggest Struggles Is...

One Of Your Biggest Struggles Is...

...all in your head!

No, seriously.

The only person standing in your way is YOU.
The biggest obstacle you will ever come against is your thoughts.
The only failure that can take you down is the one(s) in your head.

I LOVE this quote:

“Whether you think you can, or you think you can't...you're right.”  ― Henry Ford

I have talked to highly educated women that have said some of the most heart-breaking statements.

I have talk to highly successful women that have said some of the most inspiring statements.

The one thing I have NEVER experienced is a highly successful (and success is defined by YOUR goals and achievements) woman that spoke negatively about themselves.

Yes, they may be out there, but I've personally never run in to them.  I've never bought their courses.  I've never attended their seminars or workshops.

As I included above...success is dependent on an individuals goals and achievements.

It doesn't necessarily mean that you make the most money, have the most clients, own the biggest home or drive the fanciest car; unless those things are important to you.

The definition of success is:  (noun) the accomplishment of an aim or purpose.

How can you accomplish your aim or purpose if you don't believe, or think, you can?

From time to time, I have conversations with people that are very negative.  No matter what I say, they can think of a reason why it won't work.  No matter what I suggest, they can find a way to undermine the potential.  IN 99% of the cases, I decide that there's no changing that person's mind, at that point, anyway.

Right before I decided to walk away, I have that moment where I doubt myself.  Where for just a breath, I begin to think I'm not a good coach if I can't even help this one person.

BUT...then it hits me.

This person isn't my ideal client.  This person didn't ask to be coached.  And, if they did, I have the choice to say "no."  Because, honestly, fighting against their negativity, is affecting me in a way that is counter-productive. I am not the best coach for them.

I am the right coach for people who believe they deserve everything they want, have goals they will strive to achieve and are full of purpose and passion.

What I want to impart upon you is this:

What you think about, you bring about.  If you want success on YOUR terms, then you have to go after it.  If you want to hit your goals, fulfill your passion, then you need to BELIEVE you can.

If you have "blocks" around money, success, love; fears that you're not good enough, undeserving or unqualified...

BUT...you are in a place where you are ready to bust through those blocks, I want to hear from you.

Because I believe that with the right support, the right goals, and the right mindset (all of which are right for you, no one else) then you are READY to succeed.

Practical advice for today:  Start writing out your goals.  Write out your intentions for the life you want to live.  And daily, do work to move you towards that goal.  When things get tough, sit down with your writings and reinforce the life you intend to have, the goals you aim to achieve.  And, before you go to bed each night, write down THREE things that you've achieved for the day.  Make it your daily practice for the next 30 days and let me know what has come up for you.

I hope today's post has been helpful to you.

I look forward to hearing your feedback.

Make it a great day; you deserve it!

That is how it feels when you've finished a project that has given you sleepless nights, angst and butterflies in your stomach.

Today, I finished my latest project.  One of the things that killed me was saying goodbye to the reader.  I went through creating the content, talking to this imaginary mompreneur and all of a sudden, it was over.

My teaching style is conversational.  I like to write as if I'm speaking to another person.  I tell a story give examples stop the reader understands my meaning.

For me, it's always been easier to write that way.  It feels comfortable and informal, authentic and from the heart.

Anyway, it's a DIY (do it yourself) course.  That's one of the ways I've learned to do the things i want to do.  I find someone who created content to teach others and go from there.  That's what this program is designed for.

But I've also always wanted a supportive environment to get encouragement and feedback.  Most DIY programs don't include the support you need as you go along the way.

This course has both.  I know that moms have a busy schedule.  And i know it takes a lot of work to build a business whether it's online, brick and mortar or a franchise.

I'm very excited to share it with the mom entrepreneurs out there that are looking to get their business on solid feet.
It is a four-part course that you can go through at your own pace.  It's affordable and easy to follow.

What it's not:  It is no a plug-n-play course.  Honestly, each of us has different ways of doing things.  Most of those plug-n-play systems don't allow for personalization.

This is about YOU learning to shine as the star you are, in your own way, being your authentic self.

The course will be available on March 28th so keep a watch for my blog post announcing its release

My Real Message

My Real Message

WARNING:  May contain foul language.

When I first decided I wanted to be a coach, years ago, the person I trusted to guide me turned out to be a fraud.  My support system (spouse) turned out to not really care if I made it or not.  I walked away from coaching forever.

Or, so I thought.

I returned to the coaching niche with the hope to help divorced women, like me.  Quickly, I changed my mind.  I may have gone through divorce, but that was NOT where I was staying.  I was not staying a divorced woman relying on the system to help me.  I was going to make something of myself.  After all, I'd been through divorce before and I was stronger than anything, like eviction or losing my son to family.

Let me explain...

No matter what came my way, whether it was working 16 hour days at a job, or having my son moved away from me, without any contact information, I kept moving forward.

The second time around, I was going to stick it out.  I was going to stay married, no matter what.  Until the day I wanted to end my life to get out of the situation.  That's when I had to make the decision to leave everything behind.

I wasn't selfish enough to take my kids.  After all, I knew if I left them with their father and paternal grandparents, they'd have food, a roof over their head and whatever they needed.  If they went with me...who knows?

I left without a car, money, a job or anywhere to go.  It was the worst day of my life because I left my kids behind.

Judge me all you want.  I know some people will.  Until you sit with me for 15 minutes and hear a snippet of what I dealt with.

The bottom line:  I did what I had to do to move forward and create a life I love, WITH my kids.

I quickly realized that working with divorced women was not my  "thing" because if a woman is living in that mindset, I am not in a position to help them.  I'm a divorcee, yes.  But, I am a mom, an entrepreneur, an author and a veterinary technician.  I am a woman that defies the odds, pisses on stereotypes and says "fuck it" to the norm.

Hell, I was classified as a high-risk domestic violence victim.  Victim?  No fucking way.  I choose NOT to live in that head space.  I choose to be a VICTOR over all the things I've been through.  I choose to set an example for my kids, for my friends, for my clients...you're situation does NOT define you.  How you handle it, does.

That's when I decided to work with Mompreneurs.  I knew that if a mom entrepreneur wants to change the course of their business, to achieve the goals and dreams they set when they started, it won't matter if I'm divorced, married or single.  It won't matter because it's not about that part of my life.  I share my authentic self, my story, my passions, because that's the way that I am.  Maybe, just maybe, they will understand that no matter what they've gone through, they are stronger than the obstacles and get into that head space that says, "hey, I can do whatever I set my mind to."  After all, don't we tell our children that?

I don't want pity or sad looks.  I want people to hear my story and say "hell yes!  I'm on board!"  Honestly the one thing that has pushed me through all the crap is the fact that I have a fire burning inside of me.  A desire to DO more, BE more, HAVE more.  If I let the situations that happen dictate my future, my income, my happiness, how can I possibly help my kids aspire to achieve their dreams?

It's not about me...hoenstly.  Sharing my story like this is my way of saying, "Mama, you got this" to all the women out there, the mom entrepreneurs, who think that life is trying to suck them into the black hole, to search deep down within themselves and see their inner STAR.

You, my friend, were born with purpose.  You were born to fucking SHINE.  It's no coincidence you found this blog post.  There are no such things as coincidences or luck.  YOU have the power to take control of your life.

So what are you going to do about it?

Sit and wait for your treasures to come to you?  Or, go out, grab life my the balls and take what is yours?

I'm DONE pussy-footing around.  Are you IN?

My DIY Mompreneur Mini Makeover course will be released on March 28th.  It's designed for those who are ready to take charge of their life.  Ready to UP LEVEL in a big way.  It's designed for you to do it in your time, in your way, but it's only for those ready to TAKE ACTION.

Subscribe to my list to get the updates.  This is going to knock your socks off Mama.

Make it a great day; you deserve it!

Top 3 Things You Need To Do Daily For Your Business

Top 3 Things You Need To Do Daily For Your Business

You want your business to be successful, right?  You want to meet your goals and fulfill your dreams, don't you?  Maybe you want to pay off debt, travel with your loved ones or something huge like buy a new house.

So, you look to your business as the "vehicle" to get you there.

However, you need to look at what you vehicle needs to run efficiently and effectively.  It's like having a shiny new BMW in the driveway. But, there's nothing under the hood, no gas in the tank and no steering wheel inside.

Each Mompreneur is different, owning and running a business that may not be like other's businesses.  Your goals will be different.  Your schedule won't be the same, either.

Again, let's use a vehicle reference...every mompreneur has a vehicle, but they each have a different destination, different map and different timeline to travel by.

Without the engine, gas or steering wheel, all these mom entrepreneurs are STUCK.

There will be many things you might like to do daily, but these three things are NECESSARY, every single day.

#3  Daily Messaging:  This isn't about sending Facebook messages to random people daily.  This is about YOUR message and sharing it with the world, putting out their for people to see.  You want to attract the people to you that will be the PERFECT client or customer.  They will gladly purchase from you and refer you to others.  Be your authentic self and avoid "pitching" the sale all the time.

Examples:  Blog posts, videos, emails, teleclasses, webinars, group or forum content. I prefer mixing it up each day, but do something every day.

#2  Daily Sales:  I know, I just said not to pitch the sale all the time.  That is true.  But, daily you have to put it out there what you have to offer of value and how to buy from you.  You want to share your message and attract the right people to you, but you do have to give them a way to buy from you at some point.

Example:  email offer, blog post, contests, challenges, referrals, freebies, facebook groups.  You definitely want to make your "pitch" value-packed and a "no-brainer" for people to want to buy.

AND....drum roll please...

#1  Daily Intentions:  This is the absolute most important task you must do DAILY.  I prefer daily journaling, where I write out my reality and my intentions for all areas of my life.  I've learned to be very specific about what I say, and there is two reasons for that.  One, so I do get exactly what I want and two, so I can actually see and feel the intention because it's so detailed.

Example:  I will be a six figure income earner.  Great intention.  But, you don't want to make that money in the last few months of the year, right?  You want to start seeing it sooner.

This is one of mine, and you'll want to make your own, of course.  I will generate $10k in income over the next 30 days. Each month after, my income will increase by 10% and I will generate over  $135K by then end of the year.

Do you see the difference?  Do you FEEL the difference?

Do these 3 things EVERY DAY and then come back in a month and let me know how your life has changed.  ;)

PS:  If you are..
-Looking for ways to take your business to a whole new level,
-Need encouragement, empowerment or equipping to help you be the best in your niche
-Looking for practical strategies to help you get outside of the "box"
-Looking to learn how to attract more leads, more sales and more clients
-Looking for a safe, supportive environment where you don't have to sift through endless links and sales pitches to find the helpful content you need...

She Said, BE BOLD

She Said, BE BOLD

I was listening to the replay of the most recent call done by my coach/mentor Kat Loterzo and she spoke about "being BOLD."

Let me tell you...there was a TON of resistance around the concept, for me.  I'm not outspoken, I tend to be quiet and prefer to "watch and listen" to things going on around me.  I'm not really an introvert, but one thing for sure is I run from confrontation.  Confronting others and confronting myself, sometimes.  When people piss me off, I tend to just go the opposite direction because I feel that I don't want to waste my time or energy on them.

Except, when it's something I feel strongly about.  Except when it has to do with my kids.  Except for when it's my ex trying to make me feel like shit for some reason.  THEN...I'm a whole different person.  I am bold and I am focused.  My whole body language changes and I've noticed people tend to steer clear of me.

Today, I listened to the replay on the way to work and during lunch.  Then, some drama in my personal life happened and I said to myself..."this is not in my daily reality journaling. WTF?"

I must've looked like I could shoot poisonous darts from my eyes because the one co-worker that has always seemed to dislike me, steered clear of me.  And, I went through the rest of the afternoon with pure determination and fire in my veins.  I wasn't taking shit from anyone, about anything.  Of course, seeing 7 puppies softened me a bit, but the text messages that I had waiting for me kept
the fire burning strong enough.

I decided that enough was enough.  Be Bold, Kat said.  It's on, I say.

When it comes to my kids, I can turn on a bold confidence.
Now is the time to stop cowering and hiding.
Now is the time to define who I am and what I have to offer the world.
NOW is the time to get my life back and make it even better than I ever imagined.

So...from here on out, my message are for the FIRED-UP Mompreneurs that have had ENOUGH.  The women who work their asses off to make a better life for their family and are tired of being made to feel they need to jump through a bunch of stupid hoops before they can have the life the big boys promised.  The Moms that want and are working to have a successful business AND a wonderful life for their family.

MY time is now and if you've read this far...

So here's the deal.  On Monday, March 21st I will be launching a 4 week program that is a DIY-style program.  It's for those Mom Entrepreneurs that are ready to kick it up a notch and don't want any more fluff or crap.

The content will be similar to when I'm talking to my kids, and believe me, I've never been a "goo goo ga ga" mom.  I shoot from the hip with 100% authenticity and truth.  I speak to my kids as if I'm talking to a client at work.  I give realistic examples that you can wrap your brain around, and base it on experiences that you will have probably had or can at least relate to.

I'm done with worrying about everyone else's feelings, because honestly, do they worry about mine?  I'm not going to be some nasty bitch, but I'm going to say what needs to be said in the best, most effective way to say it without running it through 20 million filters in my mind.

This may piss some people off.  This may turn some people off.  But, that's part of my intention...to thin out the herd and allow room for the mom entrepreneurs that are SEARCHING for me.  It's not ego or selfish to believe that I was put on this earth to make an impact.  You were too ya know.

It's a disservice and selfish to NOT stand up, stand out and be the person I was created to be and do the things I was created to do.  And, my friend, that applies to YOU as well.  Don't be selfish.  You have talents, gifts and abilities PLUS life experiences that need to be shared.  And they need to be shared to the people that resonate with YOU.

This is my declaration to you, my friend.  I will give you 100% of myself.  If you are willing to give 100% of yourself, meet me on Sunday at 9pm EST.

The specific details are going out to my list.  JOIN HERE to get the details.

It's on Mama!

Make it a f-ing amazing day because YOU deserve it!h

Happy St Patrick's Day

Happy St Patrick's Day!!

I confess, I didn't wear a speck of green this year.  And, I'm not having corned beef and cabbage tonight.  I'm not having green beer, green eggs or anything else green at all.

I've been so focused on my loved ones, my business and my work lately, that I didn't even think about being festive.

I know, I know.  But, in all reality, I don't need an "excuse" or a holiday to celebrate my heritage.  Yes, I'm part Irish.  And English.  And...not sure what else, to be honest.  LOL

EVERY day is a day to celebrate life.  To live on purpose and with intention,  To set goals and strive to achieve them.

EVERY day is a day to be kissed.

EVERY day is a day to be grateful.

EVERY day is a day to remember where your family came from.

EVERY day is a day to celebrate all the blessings you have.

EVERY day is a day to make some green, too.  :)

I wish you all abundance and blessings on this festive day.

May you always have work for your hands to do.
May your pockets hold always a coin or two.
May the sun shine bright on your windowpane.
May the rainbow be certain to follow each rain.
May the hand of a friend always be near you.
And may God fill your heart with gladness to cheer you.

Make it a great day, you deserve it!

Please Do NOT Do This!

Please Do NOT Do This!

Them:  "Hello"
Them:  "How are you feeling?"
Them:  "Are you interested in learning to make money?"

Now, you may think I left pieces of the conversation out, but I did NOT.  That was the three messages I received.  My profile on this social platform states that I help OTHER people build their businesses.
My posts are either inspiring quotes, sunrises & sunsets or coaching posts.

My profile has my photo.  Theirs has...take a guess...a faceless person showing stacks of money.

This is how the rest of the conversation went:

Me:  "hello"
Me:  "I'm doing great."

Them:  "Ok, I understand."

If it doesn’t work by (fill in the blank) I quit

Are you frustrated in your home business?  Have you said to yourself, “If it doesn’t work by (the end of the month, in the next 30 or 90 days, etc) I quit.”

You spend hours on the computer, neglecting yourself and others, because you just need to get this business going.  You convince yourself you “just need...” (fill in the blank).

The reality is that the people who make it BIG and do it fast have been around the block a few times.  They have put in the hours and sacrifice to get where they are today.  Some of these people will be upfront and honest and say, “It’s taken me a long time to get here and you can’t expect to do it overnight.”  Others will just let you believe that if you really want it, you will buy this and that and get it done and achieve what they have (even though they know damn well that is NOT how it works.

There are few people who can come alone and start a business and see “overnight success.”  Even then, those people have been working behind the scenes far longer than you realize.  I have a very simple but powerful tip for you:

It took me many years to really accept that statement.  And, honestly, from time to time I still compare my work to what other coaches are doing.  Today, I use it as a means to inspire me to try new strategies and methods instead of using it as a way to talk myself out of doing something.

In EVERY business I worked online, I always took away some valuable lessons.  I learned how building a business was not easy, but it wasn’t nearly as hard as it seems.  How, no matter what your business, product or service, the way to create a strong foundation is to nail your message, figure out your ideal client and brand yourself.  In this world of immediate gratification, and one-click buy buttons, they way to build a business that will last a long time, that is strong and able to evolve is to know who YOU are, who your client is and how what you have to offer benefits them and gets them the results they desire.

I've been a Mom since 1991 and I've been an Entrepreneur since 1999.  The only time I felt like I was passionate about what I was doing, that I felt I shined, was when I was teaching or coaching others.  It enabled me to help others at the same time, feel a huge sense of accomplishment and a drive to do even more.  I want the same for the Mom Entrepreneurs that I work with.  Whatever the business, I want you to SHINE.

I would love, love, love to hear your feedback.  Comment on the blog or on one of the social platforms that you found this post.  It helps me to help YOU.  It shows me what content makes a difference to YOU.

I hope today's post has been helpful to you.

I look forward to hearing your feedback.

Make it a great day; you deserve it!

Who You Talking To?

Who You Talking To?

Sounds like a question with a bit of attitude, right?

It is,

Before you write your content, spend money for Facebook ads, create an email sequence...

You must, must, must figure out who you are talking to!

And, even if it goes against all the marketing tactics, you need to get crazy specific about who you want to read your marketing & advertising.

Okay, maybe all the women named Monique in Manhattan, Kansas that are aged 30-35 might be too specific, but on the flip side, all females between 18-65 in Manhattan, NY is way too broad.

Start with this list, and fine tune your target audience as much as you can.  You can always broaden your scope, but trying to sift through thousands of leads is a whole lot of work you don't need to do.

Answer these questions to narrow down your intended audience (some of these may not be applicable, just use what is)...

Age range?
Family? Married?  Single? Parent? Child? Sibling?
Married? Single? Divorced? Widowed?
Financial situation?

And try to get as specific as you can.  My ideal client is a Mom Entrepreneur that is between 30-45, interested in self-development, online business, has financial means to invest in themselves and their business, are motivated and ambitious, open-minded and are serious about changing their future; designing a life they love by doing what it takes to get it done.  For my business, it's not relevant where my client lives or if they are married or a single parent.  They can have a career inside or outside of the home.  But, you see how I've fine-tuned my ideal client in many ways.  I am willing to work with men, but find my core market is women, specifically moms.

n some ways, you could look at my target market and feel it is broad.  It is.  That's because of the type of business I have.  If you have a business selling candles, for example, the gender and age doesn't have to be very specific, but their interest in candles, fragrances, home decor should be.

Over the next few weeks, I will not only be continuing to provide tips and insight to help you grow your business, but also I will be launching my Mompreneur Makeover Membership Club.  This will be a place full of high value content to help you in whatever way you need help.  There will be an Early Bird launch period, so I just wanted to mention it while I had a chance.

I hope today's post has been helpful to you.

I look forward to hearing your feedback.

Make it a great day; you deserve it!

Tired of Cookie Cutter Plans?

Tired of Cookie Cutter Plans?

For many years, I participated in MLM or Network Marketing businesses.  I was enthusiastic and put all of my spare time into my business(es).  I watched the inspiring videos, read the books and attended the super saturday calls.  I spent money for leads, for training and other tools to grow my business.  Every business I pursued, I had a passion for helping people.  What I didn't have a passion for was cold calling, bothering friends and family and constantly trying to pitch my "stuff" to others.

Fast forward, years later, I began to learn that marketing my business had NOTHING to do with connecting the dots, spending money and energy on cold calling, using company created websites and sales pages.  It had EVERYTHING to do with who I am.  What my message was.  What I have to offer the world.

See, no matter what your business is; MLM, NWM, Affiliate Marketing, crafts, coaching, and so on...it's all about who you are and what purpose you have for this life.  It's about sharing your message in an authentic way that attracts the customers or clients you want to work with.

You know, as well as I do, that if you have to chase people to join you, you will forever chase them to stick with you.  Constant selling, persuading, pitching.  Working long hours at the end of the month trying to hit your sales goals.  Worrying about retention.  Not to mention, sending people to your cookie-cutter website and hoping that each sale doesn't click off your page and buy elsewhere.

Now, don't get me wrong...it's great that many companies provide a sales site so you don't have to figure that crap out.  That they track sales and information, so you know where your income is coming from.  It's a useful tool.  It's great that there are websites you can list your amazing hand-made products on.  BUT, how do you stand out in a sea of thousands of other reps for a company?  How do you stand out from the hundreds of other people selling similar products.

Simple:  BE YOU!

I have read articles, blogs, interviews of people who seemingly are overnight successes.  They make six figures a year.  They get the sales, the following, the constant flow of abundance.

What I gleaned from all of it?

These people stopped trying to fit in.  They stopped trying to go with the flow; follow the pack.  They shared their message.  They shared their passion, their intentions, their knowledge with others and THAT is what attracted people to them.  At that point, they then shared their sales page, company website or products for sale.

They established themselves as being someone who can be loved and trusted BEFORE they asked for the sale.  They gave value to others BEFORE they asked them to join.  They shared what they had to offer BEFORE they asked them to buy.

How do you handle your business?  Are you at the point where you are tired of following the flock, cookie-cutter process, spending money on strategies and tools...all without seeing the result you want?

Would love your comments, questions and feedback.  I'm here for you.

My job is to help Mom Entrepreneurs get out of their own way and create a life they love.

In April, I will be introducing a mastermind specifically designed to help people like you build a business they are passionate about, manifest the income they desire and create a life that is amazing!

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Condition Yourself For Success

Condition Yourself For Success

Like an athlete that trains for a marathon...
Like a lawyer that burns the midnight oil for the bar...
Like a doctor that interns and studies for a license...

You have to condition yourself for success.

You have to condition your mind.
You have to practice your craft.
You have to hone your skills.
You have to invest in yourself.

You have to put in the work to get where you want to go.

What are your DAILY practices?
What are the intentions you have for your financial future?
What are the activities you do to build your business?
What time do you devote to personal development every day?

Every day I listen to an hour of audio, during my commute, that inspires me, makes me think about what I want, reminds me understand that I choose my beliefs, and helps me to see that every f-ing thing I want is possible.  It's not a bunch of fluff or froo-froo, it is simply believing that I have everything I need to do and have everything I want.  All I need to do is put in the work to get where I want to go.

It takes daily journaling my gratitude, goals and desired reality.
It takes daily content creation.
It takes daily sales work.
It takes daily goal evaluation.

Some days, it's easier to do what I need to do.  Other days, it's more of a challenge.  I don't always get everything done that I'd like.  But, at the end of the day, it's about doing the best that I can, with what I have, where I am.  It's also about forgiving myself for not getting everything done.  AND, about celebrating all that I have gotten accomplished.

Today's a good day.  Don't you agree?  :)

Would love to hear about YOUR wins, your challenges, your daily activities, your goals...just comment below!

Someday, a catch phrase will go right HERE....lol

Top 3 Mistakes You May Be Making In Social Media Marketing

Top 3 Mistakes You May Be Making In Social Media Marketing

Every successful business owner knows that marketing on Social Media is a goldmine.  IF you know how to do it.  I am no expert, but I've learned what doesn't work.  Here are the top 3 things that you should NOT do on Social Media.  If you're doing any of these, STOP NOW.  If you know anyone that is making these mistakes, please send them to this blog post.

#3  Flashing Money:  I don't care if you really have people giving you thousands of dollars a day.  I don't want to see a random hand holding a stack of hundreds.  What message does that tell anyone?  You can post a photo of someone holding money.  It doesn't teach anyone anything of value as to how to make (or keep) money.  It's usually BS and even if a person falls for it, they are bound to report your scam later on.

#2  Bogus/Crap Profiles:  A profile that has no/few friends, no posts other than a sales pitch, no photo of yourself, no cover photo, etc.  This is all NO VALUE to others.  Even if you are who you say you are, but run your profile like a phantom, people are not going to want to interact with you.  A profile, page or group with NO interaction is not going to yield results on Facebook, or any other social media site.

The #1 Mistake is Spamming others:  When you post nothing but crap content on your wall, tag people in a photo that isn't relevant, add people to a group without asking them, inbox people a sales pitch, posting your biz link on someone else's page or commenting on a photo with the link, etc.  These are all considered SPAM and show a level of inexperience and complete disrespect that will turn off potential clients/customers in a nanosecond.

Top Tips:

My biggest tip to you, for social media:  BE YOURSELF.  Be your authentic, genuine self.  Every post comes from the heart.  Every post gives value to the reader.  Your reader should leave feeling better than feeling like they want to puke.

You may have friends, family and business associates following you on social media.  Don't post things that would make your mom want to smack you or that is so personal you wouldn't want your business partner to know.  Think before you post.  Look at your profile as visitors see it.  Do you present yourself as someone YOU would want to get to know, maybe work with?  If not, fix it NOW.  If so, congrats!!

As I said, if you're making these mistakes, fix them ASAP.  If you know someone who is doing it, help them out...send them this blog post.

How Do You Find The Time?

How Do You Find The Time?

One thing that people often ask me, when they hear that I have six kids, is: "How do you find the time to..."

Fill in the blanks with whatever you'd like.  Find the time to eat.  Find the time to sleep.  Find the time to write, work, coach, so on and so forth.

It is a great question.  I get the same 24 hours every one else does.  Sometimes, I get a lot done.  Sometimes, I go to be with an unfinished to-do list.

My motto:  Do the best you can, with what you have, where you are. PERIOD.

At the end of the day, if I feel as if I've done my best, I have to believe the rest will work itself out.  Tomorrow isn't guaranteed, true.  But, sometimes, some things have to wait until tomorrow.

Some things I DO make sure get done:

Quality time with my kids.
Income producing activity.
Alone time (think/create/relax)

How do I do it.

Part planning, part winging it.

I have my daily list of to-do things. AND, I fit it in when I have time.  I do like to multi-task, so I tend to get a lot more done than others do.

What my answer to people that ask "How do you find the time to..." is:  I just do.

My suggestion to other mompreneurs that want to find more time in their schedule?

Write it ALLLLLLL down.  Everything you do in a day.  Every. Frigging. Thing.  From the time you wake up until you go to bed at night.  Brushing your teeth, combing your hair, facebooking, commuting.  Every minute needs to be accounted for.  Take a break and look at the list the next day.  What tasks are wasting your precious time?  What time can you get back?  Ask yourself, "does this task help me or steal my time?"  If it helps, keep it.  If not, toss it.  Immediately.

Part two is to make a list of the daily activities you need and want to do.  Assign a time frame to each task.  Take the time you've recouped from your other list to get these tasks done.

Example:  Jane spends a total of 90 minutes on Facebook.  None of that time puts money in her pocket.  She needs 25 minutes to write content for her website, 20 minutes to walk/workout, 45 minutes to call back potential clients.  By tossing her Facebook time, she has 90 minutes to accomplish THREE of her to-do tasks, every day.

And, at the end of the day, if she hasn't completed all of her tasks, she can adjust the next day accordingly.

Your scenario WILL be different.  That doesn't mean that it's not do-able.

  • Listen to books and trainings during your commute, while folding laundry, while cooking.
  • Make calls and return emails during your lunch break.
  • Use shower/bath time to relax and find your creative side
  • you get the drift...
It may take some adjustments, but you will be able to find time in your schedule and get more done every day.  Just remember this:  even if you  didn't get everything done....it is OK...forgive yourself and get back at it tomorrow.

I hope that this blog post was helpful for you and the few minutes you spent reading it will allow you to free up more of your time so that you can find the time to...

To Your Success My Friend!
